"The fact that this purchase [Brawn GP by Mercedes] is currently against the outputs of the cycle manufacturers such as BMW and Toyota, that gives us the idea that Mercedes is not any one manufacturer. They are in the car since the its infancy. It was they who won the Grand Prix of the ACF in 1914, three weeks before the outbreak of World War I, it was they who in 1934 had the idea of scraping the white paint (Germany's national color) that involved prior its first official run, to stay in the weight required by the International Sports Commission (predecessor of the FIA), and thus was born the 'Silver Arrows'. It was they who gave us characters like Hans Stuck and Rudolf Caracciola, notably his archetype team leader's modern: Alfred Neubauer. And in 50 years after the Second World War, returned in force with the W195 model, driven by Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss, and Neubauer pit control of operations, giving a model unforgettable world titles and two pilots (the builders did not exist, was only created in 1958). Just left the contest after the fatal accident of the Pierre Levegh 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1955, killing 82 people. In short, the Mercedes is not a builder either. Also they breathe competition. And there's another triumph: Ross Brawn may be another Alfred Neubauer, so we can give them more evidence in his own name, even at the risk of having an 'Achilles heel' called 'top driver'..."
