O SUBSTITUTO

SÃO PAULO (decisão difícil) - O mais importante de tudo é que Kubica sobreviveu. E que a mão direita não teve de ser amputada. Mas as primeiras avaliações dos médicos que o atenderam dão conta de uma recuperação que pode levar um ano. Foram sete horas de cirurgia e ainda não se sabe se a mão vai voltar ao normal.

Falar qualquer coisa, agora, sobre o futuro da carreira de Kubica como piloto é inútil. O que parece certo é que, neste ano, ele não corre.

A [Lotus] Renault, portanto, vai ter de resolver, e logo, quem será seu substituto. Alguém há de pensar que o caminho natural seria recorrer a um de seus reservas, revelados na semana passada em Valência numa apresentação sui-generis, pela quantidade de pilotos enfileirados atrás da dupla titular: Jan Charouz, Bruno Senna, Romain Grosjean, Ho-Pin Tung e Fairuz Fauzy (é o que falta, na foto acima).

Se juntarem os cinco, não dá meio Kubica.
