Shell invests $ 50 million in commercial
Film will be part of the recordings made in Rio de Janeiro Brazil

A fornecedora de combustível da Ferrari, a Shell, trouxe ao Brasil novamente o carro de cristal. Totalmente transparente, o modelo foi construído para simular o fluxo do lubrificante Shell Helix Ultra dentro do motor. Com a primeira exibição programada para Interlagos, o auto ficará no Brasil até 6 de dezembro.

Após o GP do Brasil de F1, o carro segue para o Rio de Janeiro, onde será exposto no Museu de Arte Moderna, na Zona Sul da cidade, na terça-feira (29) em evento da empresa. O modelo é uma réplica do Nissan 370Z e foi todo construído em perspex, material semelhante ao acrílico. Enquanto o carro original pesa menos de 1,5 tonelada, a cópia pesa duas.

No total, a Shell investiu R$ 300 mil no carro-publicidade. A empresa já o levou para China, Rússia, Turquia e República Tcheca. A petrolífera é parceira da Ferrari há mais de 50 anos

A equipe McLaren em parceria com a Specialized, uma conceituada fabricante de bicicletas, desenvolveu uma bicicleta com design ousado e feroz, além de um perfil extremamente aerodinâmico.

A empresa aplicou a mesma tecnologia utilizada na criação do esportivo de luxo MP4-12C, o resultado final é variação única entre estilo e velocidade. A Venge como ficou conhecida a bicicleta foi elaborada em carbono, com peso médio de 1 kg ao somar-se com os outros equipamentos como: o garfo e o pedal a bicicleta atinge ainda um peso inferior a 2,5 kg.

O produto foi desenvolvido especialmente para competições. A bike estreou nos circuitos de rua no com o australiano Mathew Goss, que foi o vencedor utilizando-a na prova Milan-San Remo 2011, uma corrida anual de ciclismo de estrada, que é realizada desde 1907, na Itália.

The Singapore Grand Prix, Round 14 of the 2011 Formula One season and the first of the season-ending flyaway races, takes place on Sunday 25 September. The season’s only night race, with a 20:00 local start time, takes place around the city streets of Singapore’s Marina Bay area, lit up by 1500 specialist light projectors around the 5.073 km circuit.

Michael really enjoyed his first experience in Singapore last year: “it was an interesting weekend to be working on such a different time schedule. It is fun to drive and have meetings in the middle of the night. We have enjoyed good results in Spa and Monza, and everyone will be working to continue the hard work and keep up the points finishes as we head to Asia for the flyaway races.”

Williams elogia 'tesouro' Barrichello mas não confirma renovação

SILVERSTONE (Reuters) - A Williams encheu de elogios o veterano piloto brasileiro Rubens Barrichello nesta sexta-feira, mas recusou-se a confirmar se ele permanecerá na equipe para disputar a próxima temporada.

'Não posso dizer nada sobre os nossos pilotos até termos tomado a nossa decisão', disse a jornalistas o chefe da escuderia, Frank Williams, antes do Grande Prêmio da Inglaterra do fim de semana.

'Rubens é muito bem considerado e realmente é um tesouro de informações e experiência, e isso é algo que não será jogado fora. Acho que se tivéssemos lhe dado um carro melhor ele estaria muito perto da ponta (este ano), se não na própria ponta. Ele é um piloto magnífico.'

Barrichello, que vai completar 40 anos em maio de 2012, já deixou claro que deseja permanecer na equipe para disputar sua 20a temporada na Fórmula 1. O brasileiro é o único piloto na história com mais de 300 GPs no currículo.

'Estou totalmente determinado a ficar na Fórmula 1 no próximo ano', disse ele esta semana.'Em 2008, eu não sabia o que fazer (após a saída da Honda). (Felipe) Massa veio e me disse: 'Você deveria parar, já fez o bastante. O Brasil te reconhece e você tem muitos fãs'. Então eu disse: 'E daí? Eu não corro por tudo que você disse, mas por causa da velocidade e porque a paixão que eu tenho em guiar um carro ainda é grande''.

Barrichello venceu nove corridas durante sua passagem de seis anos pela Ferrari e obteve mais duas vitórias pela Brawn GP em 2009, quando seu companheiro de equipe Jenson Button conquistou o título pela equipe que substituiu a Honda.

A ex-campeã Williams não vence uma corrida desde 2004 e marcou apenas quatro pontos este ano, o que a deixa em nono lugar entre as 12 escuderias.

Barrichello disse este ano que a Williams precisava melhorar seu carro para que ele continuasse, mas afirmou que a equipe já fez isso ao implementar uma série de mudanças técnicas e fechar acordo com a Renault para o fornecimento de motores em 2012.

Ele disse que se não renovar com a Williams, vai buscar uma vaga em outras escuderias, em vez de se aposentar.

It’s the beginning of July and we’re just a few days off heading to our home race – the Santander British Grand Prix. There’s much to look forward to, with a new pit and paddock complex and a new starting position for our drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

Lewis has fond memories of racing at Silverstone – he won the race the year he won his World Drivers’ Championship and is looking to add another home win to his tally if possible.

He said: “My victory at Silverstone in 2008 was one of the sweetest and most satisfying moments of my entire Formula 1 career – and it’s a memory that I always carry with me. Standing on the top step of the podium, and looking across at the sea of flags and faces in the grandstands opposite was simply incredible.

“For this year, of course, we head to a very new Silverstone – and while much has changed around the circuit and in the paddock, I’m sure that all those thousands of fans will be just as passionate as ever – it’s one of the greatest things about the Santander British Grand Prix.

“Going into this race, we’re facing some very stiff new interpretations of the regulations; while they’ll affect all teams, it will be interesting to see if the competitive order is changed as a result. It’s going to be a busy weekend for our engineers as they adapt – as always, they’ll do a fantastic job to ensure we stay competitive.

“I’m really looking forward to Silverstone: it’s one of the best circuits in the world, and I really think that the arrival of DRS and KERS Hybrid will make this one of the best and most exciting British Grands Prix ever.”

Jenson is eager to improve on his career best fourth place finish at the circuit and admits it would mean everything to win in front of his home fans, which in his eyes are some of the greatest in the world.

He said: “My best finish at Silverstone is fourth, which I earned in 2004 and last year, after a great charge through the field after a disappointing performance in qualifying. Although it’s a place that’s not been too kind to me, I’m really looking forward to this year’s race: we raced on the new layout last year, but this will be the first time we’ve experienced the new circuit as it’s really meant to be.

Na manhã desta segunda-feira, 4, Sir Richard Branson e sua filha, Holly, atraíram alguns paparazzi para o Horse Guards Parade, ponto turístico no centro de Londres. Ele, fundador e chairman do Grupo Virgin, estava ali, num dos cenários mais marcantes do filme Carros 2, para anunciar parceria com a Disney/Pixar, responsável pela animação.

No Grande Prêmio da Inglaterra, que acontece neste fim de semana, dias 9 e 10, os dois modelos do braço automobilístico da Virgin estarão tinindo no circuito de Silverstone — e estampando a logomarca do desenho animado. Os boxes e áreas ocupadas pela equipe da empresa também trarão a marca da animação como elemento decorativo.

“Disney e Pixar são parceiros perfeitos para nosso time, uma vez que sempre nos orgulhamos de nossa filosofia de simpatia para com torcedores”, afirmou a Virgin em nota oficial. De acordo com o comunicado, o diretor de Carros 2, John Lasseter, criou parte dos personagens da franquia a partir de seu primeiro contato com Fórmula 1, em 2007.

Biography

Grace Kelly was born into a Catholic family of Irish descent, on November 12, 1929, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

AUSTRALIA Melbourne Race Briefing

Welcome to the start of 2011’s eagerly awaited Formula One season. As always Shell has been working shoulder to shoulder with Scuderia Ferrari during the winter break, helping to prepare the team for the season ahead. The first race of the season is the Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park in Melbourne.

The paddock in Melbourne is always buzzing with excitement and is usually crowded with famous faces. The circuit exudes history and class. The main grandstands are all named after racing greats, from Schumacher to Fangio, Brabham to Prost and it still fascinating that there are no traditional long straights on the course. Albert Park was opened for Formula One business in 1996 and as such was the first track to encompass a body of water – something that has now become more fashionable at circuits such as Valencia, Singapore and Abu Dhabi. There’s something really uplifting about starting the season off in Melbourne. Rumour has it that it’s a relatively easy circuit to drive, but we are still in awe of the drivers completing the 58-lap Grand Prix!

Over the race weekend Cara Tredget, Gareth Lowe and Lucy Taylor will be in the Shell Trackside Laboratory to carry out over 30 tests on the Shell V-Power fuel and 40 tests on the Shell Helix Ultra lubricant being used in the Scuderia Ferrari cars. Shell’s work at the track is a demonstration of the research and development facilitated by the technical partnership with Scuderia Ferrari - the learnings from which we transfer to products for road cars.
